Orienteering is a sport which contains both running and navigation. Members can compete individually or in a small group. The aim is to navigate around a highly detailed map to find control points in sequence while being timed. The events are held in different locations around Cork. The locations are generally in forests or parks and occasionally open mountains. The sport caters to all abilities. There are different course levels ranging from beginners to advanced.
We aim to go to events each Sunday. We also compete in the Inter-Varsities as well as Munster and All Ireland Championships. The club has done well in the past, with the Mens A team coming second in the 2019 Inter-Varsities.
Through orienteering you get to explore different parts of Cork, meet new people and learn about map reading and navigation.
